Atang Tshikare (South Africa) is an award winning artist and ‘creator’ choosing to work between disciplines such as design, fashion and graphic design. His studio Zabalazaa Designs in Cape Town is an open platform for co-creation and innovation applying creative design-led thinking, working with various materials such as wood, paper, metal, ceramics and fabric. His work has been shown in different parts of the world such as Design Miami. During his residency period Atang will create work based on the festival theme Fragile Freedom and will be the featuring artists of the FRAGILE FREEDOM: WOMXN exhibition.
Atang is taking part in the exhibition Fierce Freedom, which will take place at De Balie Amsterdam from 28 Sep till 15 Oct., and at Maaspodium from 6 till 8 October 2017. Next to that Atang will give a workshop at the Kunsthal Rotterdam at 1th. of Oct. during a whole day organised by Afrovibes, which includes the Lady Africa Fashion Show.
