Mohamed Ahmed Abdel Rasoul is regarded as one of the most promising Sudanese artists of this moment. His fine pen drawings and black and white paintings full of detailed lines reflect his Sudanese heritage. Personal memory, fantasy and collective consciousness come in and out of focus as he reframes them. "In this life one meets faces and features of people. Some are full of life, some are lost or confused and others are like the walking dead. They remind me of the old tales my grandmother used to tell when I was a child. Of the places I saw in my dreams and the cities I weave into them. Cities that might look real in all their uniqueness, symbols and language. This unique language inspires fantasy and fairy tales. The lines connect the dream, which I turn into an image. The line that lays interlaced, quiet as life. "
