Batoul Shimi (Maroc) places everyday objects like clothes or specimen central in her work. She uses these objects to adress social and ethic questions. By situating the everyday in a different frame she invites the viewer to step into her poetic world where the human measure is her starting point.
Batoul Shimi stayed at the Thami Mnyele studio in July 2008. By invitiation of Liteside Festival she developed a public space project. The project was presented at Liteside Festival 23, 24 and 25 August 2008 in Amsterdam.
