Congratulations to Thami Mnyele Foundation fellow Razia Barsatie with a group exhibition 'Een Lekkere Dood' at the Tot Zover Museum.
What do we eat at farewell and mourning? The importance of eating and drinking during grief cannot be overstated. It gives refreshment in sorrow and helps to deal with death. Food gives energy and comfort. It even creates a small moment of pleasure, beyond the boundaries of pain. There are also memories attached to it.
Razia Barsatie will be showing showing a personal work of her 15 years lost brother and his relation with food.
The exhibition will be open from 9 June 2023 to 11 February 2024. After the show, Barsatie's work will travel to the cemetery in Suriname.
