2026-04-15 | Jody Brand at a group exhibition at Welgelegen Pavilion in Haarlem

Our fellow Jody Brand is participating in a group exhibition, To Mend a Broken String, at Welgelegen Pavilion in Haarlem.

The Provincial Government of North Holland invites you to visit the new exhibition in the Dreef exhibition series: 'To Mend a Broken String'. The exhibition is on view from April 24 to July 17, 2026.

The exhibition is curated by art historian Mirjam Dik and showcases contemporary art from South Africa. The installations featuring film, photography, atotypes, steel, preserved vegetables and fruit, linen, hand-woven carpets, cushions, books, and plants offer safe spaces to engage with stories from colonial history driven by a hunger for reparation.

The title refers to a story named !nuin-|kúï-ten (who was a sorcerer or magician) by Díâ!kwain from 1875.

With: Judith Westerveld, Jody Brand, Nkuli Mlangeni-Berg and Nadège Sanz.
