Ashraf Moneim

Ashraf Moneim (Sudan, 1980) is an artist and head of painting at Sudan University of Science and technology, College of fine and Applied Arts.
He obtained a Master degree in Painting in 2008, a first class Painting diploma in 2005, and a Graphic design degree, all at the Sudan University of Science and Technology Faculty of Technology and Human Development.
Ashraf Moneim has participated in numerous exhibitions, among others: Agenda Exhibition, Egypt Alexandria (2012), African Contemporary art in Africa, in Camcasoria, Contemporary Art Museum, Italy (2009). And had several solo shows at the French Cultural Center Sudan (2009), the College of Fine and Applied Arts (2008), and the German Cultural Center Sudan (2006). He is a member of the Sudanese artists Union, the Sudanese Association of Arts and the Arts Africa Sudan artists Organization.
Ashraf Moneim was guest at the studio for a period of two weeks in November 2013, invited by the Thami Mnyele Foundation together with the YAA. He stayed at the residency with Sudanese artist Awaad Issa . They visited Amsterdam during Art Amsterdam and did research concerning their work.
