Atang Tshikare

Atang Tshikare (South Africa) is an award-winning artist and creator choosing to work between disciplines such as design, fashion, and graphic design. His studio Zabalazaa Designs in Cape Town is an open platform for co-creation and innovation , applying creative design-led thinking, working with various materials such as wood, paper, metal, ceramics, and fabric. His work has been shown in different parts of the world such as Design Miami. During his residency period, Atang will create work based on the festival theme Fragile Freedom and will be the featured artist of the FRAGILE FREEDOM: WOMXN exhibition.
Atang is taking part in the exhibition Fierce Freedom, which will take place at De Balie Amsterdam from 28 September to 15 October, and at Maaspodium from 6 to 8 October 2017. Next to that, Atang will give a workshop at the Kunsthal Rotterdam on the 1st of October, for a whole day, organised by Afrovibes, which includes the Lady Africa Fashion Show.
