Thierry Mandon (France / Netherlands) uses photography, video performance and installation to express the poetic feeling of the everyday. Often these appear to be subtle transformations where the viewer meets the tragic and , at the same time the comic aspects of our human existence. Thierry Mandon uses the public space as his platform where he addresses the question, are we the creators of our cultural environment, or are we just taking part in it? How to dissolve these dualities and how to reconcile with the every day life is one of Thierry Mandon's aims.
Thierry Mandon stayed at the Thami Mnyele studio in July 2008. By invitation of Liteside Festival, he developed a public space project in Amsterdam. The project was presented at the Liteside Festival on 23, 24, and 25 August 2008 in Amsterdam.
