On Friday, September 19, from 17:00 to 19:00, Thami Mnyele Foundation (Bellamystraat 21D) will host an open studio with our current resident, Caterina Pecchioli. It is a great opportunity to meet the artist and view the visual outcomes of her research, Decolonizing the Gaze: The Colonial Heritage of Italian and International Fashion Design and its Impact on the Collective Imagination. The visuals include a special collaboration with fashion designer Victor Reginal Bob Abbey‑Hart.
Decolonizing the Gaze: The Colonial Heritage of Italian and International Fashion Design and its Impact on the Collective Imagination, which she developed in 2023 during her previous residency at the Thami Mnyele Foundation, in collaboration with CBK Zuidoost and Framer Framed, and which was supported by the Italian Council (11th edition, 2022).
