2025-02-05 Ina van Zyl: at 750 Amsterdam group exhibition at H'Art Museum in Amsterdam

Congratulations to our fellow Ina van Zyl whose works are a part of the celebration of HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMSTERDAM 750 years at H'Art Museum until March 16th 2025.

The four drawings - charcoal and pastel on paper, 71 x 50cm - are part of a series she made in commission of Stadsarchief Amsterdam in 2017.

‘The theme of the commission was "Groeistuipen. Van wie is de stad?" I chose to draw trees at specific spots in the city starting in the centre - Mr. Vissersplein - and ending at the city ring road with Hendrikje Stoffelslaan. The trees are metaphors for city housing, representing old buildings, renovation projects, vacant space and new buildings.’
