2025-06-05 | Thania Petersen in conversation at Museum Sophiahof in The Hague

As a follow-up to the symposium Nederlands Slavernijverleden Indische Oceaan, our fellow Thania Petersen will participate in a conversation led by historian Wim Manuhutu with writer Isna Marifa from Jakarta (Indonesia). The conversation will take place at Museum Sophiahof in The Hague, on 6th June (Friday) from 12:00 - 14:00. Free admission, register here.

Both explore the legacy of slavery in the Indian Ocean through their respective artistic practices. What role can art and literature play in making histories of slavery, heritage, and identity visible?
