We congratulate our fellow Ina van Zyl with her solo exhibition at SCHUNK Museum in Heerlen, which presents the most comprehensive overview of Ina van Zyl's 30-plus years of work in the Netherlands to date. Ina van Zyl was the resident of the Thami Mnyele Foundation in 1995.


In her paintings, she zooms in extremely closely on toes, skin, flowers, fruits, and everyday objects. What initially seems recognizable transforms into something else through scale and color. Her work slows down your gaze. You have to pause for a moment. And then you see more.
