Our fellow Hasan Essop is having a solo exhibition, Between Truth and Fiction, at Eclectica Contemporary in Cape Town, South Africa.

Hasan Essop’s latest body of work occupies the unstable space between what is real and what is constructed. Through performance, photography and collage, Essop examines identity as something performed, layered and continually negotiated.

The photographic image becomes not simply a record, but a stage where faith, culture, belonging and memory intersect.

The exhibition is part of the Cape Town Photo Festival.
