2026-10-02 | Richard Kofi and Billy Gerard Frank: at BLACK EUROPE 2026 in Brussels
Our fellows Richard Kofi and Billy Gerard Frank will participate in BLACK EUROPE 2026 the biennial conference of the Center for Black European Studies and the Atlantic at Carnegie Mellon University, hosted by the House of European History.
Bringing together scholars, artists and thinkers from Europe and beyond, the conference explores Blackness as a generative place, one without which Europe itself cannot be understood.
The programme brings together an outstanding line-up of voices, including Tania Safura Adam, Margaret Ohia-Nowak, Marcia Harvey Isaksson, Elisabeth Gustave, Felix Germain, Sophie Marie Niang, Véronique Clette-Gakuba, Paula Anacaona, Mame-Fatou Niang, Kia Lilly Caldwell, Johanne Affricot, Pina Gemboni, Billy Gérard Frank, Richard Kofi, Alexis Peskine, Ayoko Mensah, Maisha Auma, Daphina Misiedjan, Olivette Otele and Myriam Cottias.
The conference is hosted in connection with an exhibition #Postcolonial?, which invites you to explore how colonial histories continue to shape Europe and European societies today.
